Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of jobhone.com and the JobHone service (the “Service”). The Service is operated by JobHone (“JobHone”, “we”, “us”).

By creating an account, subscribing to a plan, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Eligibility

You may use the Service only if you:

  • are at least 16 years old;
  • have the legal capacity to enter into a binding contract; and
  • are not barred from using the Service under the laws of Singapore or any other jurisdiction that applies to you.

If you use the Service on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you have authority to bind that organisation, and “you” includes both you personally and that organisation.

2. Your account

To use most features, you must create an account. You agree to:

  • provide accurate and up-to-date information;
  • keep your password confidential; and
  • be responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.

Notify us through our support form at jobhone.com/contact if you suspect unauthorised use of your account. We are not liable for losses caused by unauthorised use that you could have prevented by keeping your credentials secure.

3. The Service

JobHone is an AI-assisted tool that helps you tailor resumes and cover letters to specific job listings, run automated checks against your resume, and choose from a set of templates.

We may add, change, or remove features at any time. If we make material changes that reduce core functionality of a paid plan during your billing period, we will let you know in advance.

4. Plans, billing, and refunds

4.1 Free and paid plans

We offer a free plan and one or more paid plans. The features and pricing of each plan are described on our pricing page and may change from time to time. Changes to existing paid plans will not take effect for current subscribers until their next renewal.

4.2 Subscriptions and auto-renewal

Paid plans are billed in advance on a recurring basis (monthly or annually, depending on the plan you choose). Your subscription will automatically renew at the end of each billing period at the then-current price, unless you cancel before the renewal date.

4.3 Payment

Payments are processed by Stripe. By providing payment details, you authorise us (through Stripe) to charge the applicable fees to your payment method. You are responsible for keeping your payment details accurate and current.

4.4 Taxes

Prices are stated exclusive of applicable taxes (such as GST), unless stated otherwise. You are responsible for any taxes, duties, or similar charges that apply to your purchase, except for taxes on our income.

4.5 Cancellation

You can cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings or by contacting us through the support form. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; you keep access until then.

4.6 Refunds

Except where required by law, fees are non-refundable, including for partial billing periods, unused time, or features you choose not to use. We may, at our discretion, issue refunds or credits in individual cases.

4.7 Failed payments

If a payment fails, we may retry the charge, suspend access to paid features, or downgrade your account to the free plan until the issue is resolved.

5. Your content

Your Content” means anything you upload, paste, type, or otherwise submit to the Service — including your resume content, job listings, cover letter inputs, and instructions to the AI.

5.1 Ownership

You retain all rights to Your Content. We do not claim ownership of it.

5.2 Licence to operate the Service

To operate the Service, you grant JobHone a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, process, transmit, and display Your Content, and to send relevant portions of it to our service providers (including Anthropic) so they can return AI-generated output to you. This licence exists only for the purpose of providing and improving the Service and ends when Your Content is deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

5.3 Your responsibilities for Your Content

You represent and warrant that:

  • Your Content is accurate to the best of your knowledge;
  • you have the right to submit Your Content to the Service; and
  • Your Content does not infringe anyone else’s rights or breach any law.

You are solely responsible for the truthfulness of statements you include in your resume or cover letter and for how you use the output of the Service in your job applications.

6. AI-generated output

The Service uses Anthropic as its AI provider to generate suggestions, tailored achievements, cover letter drafts, and scoring.

You acknowledge that:

  • AI-generated output may contain errors, omissions, fabrications (“hallucinations”), or content that misrepresents your actual experience;
  • you are responsible for reviewing, editing, and verifying any AI output before using it in a job application or anywhere else;
  • the same or similar output may be generated for other users using the same inputs; and
  • JobHone makes no claim of ownership over AI output produced for you. As between you and JobHone, you are free to use that output in your own job applications.

We do not guarantee that the use of the Service will result in interviews, job offers, employment outcomes, or any specific score on any external resume parser or applicant tracking system.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • use the Service to submit information that is false, misleading, fraudulent, or that misrepresents another person’s experience or identity;
  • submit another person’s resume or personal data without their permission;
  • use the Service to harass, defame, or harm any person;
  • attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or extract the source code of the Service, except to the extent this restriction is prohibited by law;
  • use scrapers, bots, or other automated means to access the Service except through interfaces we expressly provide;
  • circumvent rate limits, plan limits, or access controls;
  • resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit the Service or its output other than as part of your own job-search activity, without our prior written consent;
  • upload malware, exploit code, or content intended to disrupt the Service; or
  • use the Service in violation of any law or regulation that applies to you.

We may suspend or terminate your account if we reasonably believe you have breached this section.

8. Intellectual property

The Service — including the JobHone name, logo, website, software, templates, scoring logic, and other materials — is owned by JobHone and protected by intellectual property laws. Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to access and use the Service for its intended purpose.

Nothing in these Terms transfers any of our intellectual property to you.

9. Third-party services

The Service relies on third-party providers — currently Stripe (payments), Vercel (hosting), and Anthropic (AI). Their services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the acts or omissions of third-party providers, except where Singapore law makes us responsible regardless.

10. Privacy

Our handling of personal data is described in our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

11. Suspension and termination

11.1 By you

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. See Section 4.5 for the effect on paid subscriptions.

11.2 By us

We may suspend or terminate your access to all or part of the Service, with or without notice, if:

  • you breach these Terms;
  • we are required to do so by law or by a request from a competent authority;
  • continued provision would expose us or other users to material risk; or
  • we discontinue the Service or a feature.

11.3 Effect of termination

On termination, your right to use the Service ends. Sections that by their nature should survive termination — including Sections 5.1, 6, 8, 12, 13, 14, and 16 — will survive.

12. Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, to the maximum extent permitted by law. Without limiting the foregoing, we do not warrant that:

  • the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure;
  • AI output will be accurate, complete, or fit for any particular purpose;
  • the Service will pass any specific applicant tracking system, resume parser, or recruiter screening; or
  • using the Service will lead to any particular employment outcome.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties; in those jurisdictions, the above exclusions apply to the maximum extent permitted.

13. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

  • JobHone will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or business opportunities, arising out of or in connection with your use of the Service, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
  • Our aggregate liability for all claims arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service in any 12-month period is limited to the greater of (a) USD 100 or (b) the fees you actually paid to JobHone in the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.

These limits apply whether the claim is based on contract, tort (including negligence), statute, or any other legal theory. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law (such as for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, or death or personal injury caused by negligence).

14. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold JobHone harmless from any claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to:

  • Your Content;
  • your use of AI output in your job applications or elsewhere;
  • your breach of these Terms; or
  • your violation of any law or the rights of any third party.

We may take over the defence of any claim subject to this indemnity, in which case you will cooperate with us at your own expense.

15. Changes to the Service or these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you by email or through an in-product notice before the changes take effect. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page always reflects the latest version.

If you continue to use the Service after the new Terms take effect, you accept them. If you do not agree, you should stop using the Service and, if applicable, cancel your subscription.

16. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of Singapore, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. The courts of Singapore have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service, except that we may seek injunctive relief in any jurisdiction to protect our intellectual property or prevent unauthorised use of the Service.

If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, it will be enforced to the maximum extent permitted, and the remaining provisions will remain in effect.

17. Miscellaneous

  • Entire agreement. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and JobHone regarding the Service and supersede any prior agreements.
  • No waiver. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of our right to do so later.
  • Assignment. You may not assign these Terms without our written consent. We may assign these Terms in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
  • Notices. We may give you notice through the Service, by email, or by posting on our website. You may give us notice through the support form.
  • No third-party beneficiaries. No one other than you and JobHone has any rights under these Terms (including under the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 2001 of Singapore).
