Privacy Policy

Last updated: 28 April 2026

JobHone (“JobHone”, “we”, “us”) helps job seekers in Singapore and Southeast Asia tailor resumes and cover letters to specific job listings. This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect when you use jobhone.com and our services, why we collect it, how we use it, and the choices you have.

This policy is written to comply with Singapore’s Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (PDPA). If you access JobHone from another jurisdiction (including the EU/UK), additional rights described below may also apply to you.

1. Who we are

JobHone operates the website at jobhone.com and the related services described in this policy.

For any privacy questions, requests, or complaints — including requests to access, correct, or delete your data — please use our support form at jobhone.com/contact. Requests relating to the PDPA, including matters that would normally be directed to a Data Protection Officer, can be submitted through the same form.

2. The data we collect

2.1 Information you give us directly

  • Account details: name, email address, password (stored hashed), and any profile information you choose to add.
  • Resume content: everything you upload, paste, or type into JobHone — work experience, education, skills, contact details, links, and any personal information you include in your resume or cover letter.
  • Job listings you paste in: the job descriptions, company names, and related text you provide so we can tailor your resume.
  • Payment information: if you subscribe to a paid plan, our payment processor Stripe collects and processes your card details. We do not store full card numbers on our servers; we receive a token and limited billing metadata (e.g., card brand, last four digits, billing country).
  • Communications: messages you send us through our support form.

2.2 Information we collect automatically

  • Usage data: pages viewed, features used, actions taken (e.g., resumes generated, templates selected), and timestamps.
  • Device and log data: IP address, browser type and version, operating system, and crash logs.
  • Cookies and similar technologies: see Section 8.

We do not knowingly collect sensitive personal data such as NRIC/FIN numbers, financial account numbers (beyond payment processing), health information, or government-issued IDs. Please do not include such data in your resume content.

3. How we use your data

We use your personal data to:

  1. Provide the service — create and manage your account, generate tailored resumes and cover letters, run resume checks, and deliver templates.
  2. Process AI requests — send your resume content and the job listing you paste to our AI provider so it can generate tailored output (see Section 4).
  3. Process payments — handle subscriptions, renewals, refunds, and tax compliance.
  4. Communicate with you — respond to support requests, send service updates, security notices, and billing notifications.
  5. Improve the product — analyse aggregated usage to debug, prioritise features, and improve our parsers and scoring models.
  6. Protect the service and users — detect and prevent fraud, abuse, scraping, and security incidents.
  7. Comply with legal obligations — including tax, accounting, and lawful requests from authorities.

Legal bases (where relevant): consent (e.g., when you submit your resume), performance of a contract (delivering the service you signed up for), legitimate interests (improving and securing the service), and legal obligation.

4. AI processing

JobHone uses Anthropic as its large language model (LLM) provider to generate tailored resume achievements, cover letters, and scoring.

When you use a feature that requires AI:

  • The relevant content (your resume text, the job listing you paste, and any related instructions) is sent to Anthropic over an encrypted connection.
  • Anthropic processes the content under enterprise/API terms that do not permit your inputs or outputs to be used to train its public models.
  • Anthropic may retain the content for a short period for abuse monitoring before deletion, in line with its published policies.

We do not sell your resume content. We do not share it with employers, recruiters, or advertisers.

5. When we share data

We share personal data only with:

  • Service providers acting on our behalf:
    • Vercel — hosting and infrastructure for the JobHone website and application.
    • Stripe — payment processing for paid plans.
    • Anthropic — AI processing, as described in Section 4.

Each of these providers is bound by contract to protect your data and use it only for the services we engage them for.

  • Legal and safety reasons — when required by law, court order, or a valid request from a public authority, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of JobHone, our users, or the public.
  • Business transfers — if JobHone is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, your data may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you and, where required, seek consent.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it with employers or recruiters.

6. International data transfers

JobHone is operated from Singapore, but the service providers listed in Section 5 may store or process data in other countries, including the United States and the European Union. When we transfer personal data outside Singapore, we take reasonable steps to ensure the receiving organisation provides a standard of protection comparable to the PDPA, including through contractual safeguards.

7. Data retention

  • Account data and resume content: retained for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete or anonymise your account data and resume content within 90 days, except where we are required to retain certain records for legal, tax, or accounting purposes.
  • Billing records: retained for at least 5 years to comply with Singapore tax and accounting requirements.
  • Logs and usage data: retained in identifiable form for up to 90 days, then aggregated or deleted.
  • Backups: may persist for a short additional window before being overwritten.

You can request deletion at any time — see Section 9.

8. Cookies and similar technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies that are strictly necessary to operate the service — for example, to keep you signed in, remember your plan, and protect against abuse. We do not use third-party advertising cookies for behavioural ad targeting.

You can control cookies through your browser settings; blocking strictly necessary cookies will break parts of the service.

9. Your rights

Under the PDPA, you have the right to:

  • Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correction — ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Withdraw consent — withdraw consent for processing where we rely on consent. This may mean we can no longer provide parts of the service to you.
  • Deletion — delete your account, which will trigger deletion or anonymisation of your data as described in Section 7.

If you are in the EU/UK, you additionally have rights to data portability, restriction of processing, objection to processing based on legitimate interests, and the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.

To exercise any of these rights, submit a request through our support form at jobhone.com/contact. We will respond within 30 days. We may need to verify your identity before acting on your request.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact Singapore’s Personal Data Protection Commission (PDPC) at www.pdpc.gov.sg.

10. Security

We protect your data with measures including encryption in transit (TLS), access controls, audit logging, and reliance on reputable infrastructure providers. No system is perfectly secure, but if a breach affects your personal data and is likely to result in significant harm, we will notify you and the PDPC in accordance with applicable law.

You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for activity that occurs under your account.

11. Children

JobHone is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us through our support form and we will delete it.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you by email or through an in-product notice before the changes take effect. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page always reflects the latest version.

13. Contact us

For any questions about this policy or how we handle your data, please reach out through our support form at jobhone.com/contact.

This policy is provided as a starting point and does not constitute legal advice. You should have a qualified lawyer review it against your actual data flows before publishing.
